COVID-19 Opening Arrangements

The Government has advised that non-essential services may re-open from 15 June 2020, on the condition that places of work can be made ‘COVID-safe’ for customers and employees.

We are pleased to announce our plan to re-open our diary for cake bookings from this date. Our studio space will remain closed to the public for the time-being.

We thank all our customers, past, repeat and new, for continuing to support local businesses at this challenging and unprecedented time. Without your support and custom, our Pig would cease to fly!

To ensure everyone’s health and safety, there will be some changes to the way we operate for the foreseeable future

  • To ensure optimum hygiene and virus control, we will keep our studio CLOSED and all consultations will be by prior arrangement only. Please contact us to arrange an appointment for a cake consultation. We recommend consultations for all celebration cakes, but will do our best to consult via email if a customer is unable to meet us.

  • In the interests of social distancing, cake consultations will be strictly limited to one appointment at a time with a maximum of 2 customers per consultation.

  • Hand sanitiser will be available for customers to use on entry and exit from the studio. We will also hand-sanitise prior to and after consultations.

  • Please use a face covering whilst in our studio as per the Government instructions of 24 July 2020.

  • If customers develop Covid-19 symptoms prior to a consultation, we will re-arrange the meeting for a time when they are free of symptoms and/or following the recommended self- isolation period. We respectfully ask our customers to follow this advice to the letter as we both have medical conditions that make us vulnerable to COVID-19.

  • Cake collections will be by prior arrangement on the date requested. Wherever possible, we will carry the boxed cake to the customer’s car, whilst wearing gloves/face covering.

  • Cake delivery and set up will be available with the necessary social distancing and virus control measures in place. We will use protective clothing as necessary in both public venues and private homes.

  • Cupcake parties and cake decorating/sugar craft classes will not take place until Government advice changes about indoor meetings from different households.
